Alfredo Fernandez Iglesias

Alfredo’s lesson aims to harmonize individual energy flow, bringing the mind and the body in tune. To start, the participant becomes silent, eyes closed, perceiving from within and attentive to bodily sensations. Superfluous mental and physical tensions can then abide. During the class the participants will progress towards postural awareness and movement pattern-excercises. The lesson gradually carries you from standing-, to sitting- and lying pilates-combinations which address breathing, flexibility, coordination, core stability and muscle chains. The intensity will vary in each lesson according to different topics. The lesson ends with a relaxation/meditation cool down.

Alfredo’s knowledge, intuition and experience make him a remarkable professional coach.

Alfredo Fernandez has worked as a ballet dancer for 20 years. Until 1998 he danced at the Dutch National Ballet. At the end of his ballet-career, he made a leap towards contemporary dance and choreography. Since then he has been teaching ballet and contemporary technique as well as improvisation and composition.

His passion for movement, human nature and culture, inside and outside the artistic realm, led him to search and research on these aspects further and further.

In 2004 he began a somatic movement coaching study, which gave answers to his quest and settled the foundation for his actual work. Through Somatic Movement coaching he discovered how to achieve physical and mental autonomy, combining Western and Asian values.

Autonomy means also to find a practical routine to maintain physical stability. He then discovered Perfect Pilates, a method developed by physiotherapist inspired by the traditional pilates approach.

His knowledge, intuition and experience make him a remarkable professional coach.
