Nina Funk, German born and now based in Amsterdam, finished the ArtEZ dance academy in 2008 and has danced for many choreographers throughout Europe since then.
Nina is a certified Pilates Polestar Studio trainer.
Further trainings, including workshops at the Laban School in London, from Hofesh Shechter Company and Anouk van Dijk, inspired Nina’s own movement language: “Space and Flow”. Further more she’s a certified Countertechnique teacher and Matwork Pilates trainer.
Nina teaches with lots of energy and awareness of the level of each dancer. She will invite everyone in a healthy and open way to bring themselves to a higher and more conscious level. She gives the dancers a guideline to build up their awareness of a strong body, while playing with different dynamics and free ranges of movement that result in a challenging and joyful training.
Nina teaches a great class. She manages to make class interesting no matter your level. I particularly like her mix of new routines at the barre or in the center versus repetition.
At first they can be quite challenging but you get the time to really master them over a few classes. She easily adds challenges for anyone who has the routine nailed or simplifies for anyone newer to the moves.
The other thing that keeps me coming back is that classes are on the smaller side and since Nina is so cheerful, the atmosphere in class is better than anywhere else I’ve danced.
